April showers are here but that dosen't mean you can't find something fun to do. Plan to stop by the library this week for some indoor fun. On Friday, April 10, join us at 2:00 p.m. for Rick Meyer's Old Time Music Show. Rick will perform a fun-filled program of folk music, songs and historical narration, which shows how folk music was created by pioneers and how we can enjoy it in our lives today. This show is for all ages and will be held in Meeting Rooms A & B on the first floor of the library.
Rick's show is part of the state-wide "Oregon Reads" program, which encourages Oregonians of all ages to read the same book as part of our state's Sesquicentenial (150th!) birthday. The two books chosen for kids are "Bat 6" by Virginia Euwer Wolff for older kids and "Apples to Oregon" by Deborah Hopkinson for younger kids. Both stories are taken from a part of Oregon's history. The Beaverton City Library Children's Division has many copies of both titles available for check out. For more information about "Oregon Reads" visit their website at
