Book Club Kits

Do you want to start a book club for kids? Book Club Kits at the Beaverton City Library are a fast, easy way to get started! All the work has been done for you, and all you need to do is come in to the library and check out a single kit for up to eight book club members (target age grades 3-5).

Starting a book club for children can help improve reading comprehension, and help children articulate their thoughts and express themselves in social situations. In addition, being in a book club can make reading just plain fun!

Each book club kit is composed of 8 copies of the book, discussion questions and answers, fun crafts and other lesson ideas, as well as the author's biography and bibliography.

16 kits are available for the following books: Chocolate Fever, Christopher Mouse, Dear Mrs. Ryan You're Ruining My Life, Drit My Homegirl, The Frog Princess, Ivy and Bean, Julep O'Toole: Confessions of a Middle Child, Love Ruby Lavender, Moxy Maxwell Does Not Love Stuart Little, No Flying in the the House, Phineas L. MacGuire, Poppy, Richard Wright and the Library Card, Say What?, The Janitor's Boy, and Year of the Dog.

You can call us (503-350-3600) or check our online catalog to reserve a kit (search for - Juvenile book club kit), or just come in to the library and see what is available.
