Help your Parents Save the Planet is filled with great ways to make your home and community a little greener. The section called “in the kitchen” reminds us that where our food comes from and how it is packaged makes a big impact on the environment. There is a whole section all about gardening and getting one started, even indoors! In the section on Recycling this books provides a short guide to what those symbols on your plastics mean (you know the one I’m talking about—that triangle made out of arrows-- Sometimes it has a number inside). From that I learned that your used water bottle can be recycled to make polar fleece! How about that?

Reading this colorful book reminded me of all the ways that I know I should save the planet, but sometimes I forget (like turning off the power strip to my computer when I’m not using it). And it also inspired me to research composting. Check it out and see how you can help save the planet today!
